The spring is born and the world is new, with green leaves and inexperience. You are just a bud, so newly arrived, the world changes with your appearance. In summer you thrive so wild and the sun makes you grow fast. The bud gives birth to flowers, you hope your delicate bloom will last. The autumn leaves have taken their turn, they fall to the ground. Just like you their health is failing and the cycle of life turns around. The snow falls and winter arrives with blistering cold and disease. The world is still and icy because of death and winter freeze. |

The Night Can Deceive my eyes search the unknown. Behind a tree, a shadow there? Am I still alone? Anxious glances over my shoulder, it doesn't calm my mood. Whistling wind or a voice? I must be crazy, I conclude. The street lamps offer no illumination. I'm left with my poor sight. And wondering what could be lurking in the masking blanket of night. Silently I say a prayer, to try and ease my foolish mind. Heaven's light doesn't favor me, And it leaves me just as blind. Eager for the safety of home, I travel on with speed. I shake my head, incredulous at how my imagination does mislead. I reach my door and turn the key, and suddenly I'm aware. Trouble wasn't following me, It was waiting for me there. |
