Does he love me?
By Megan Meyer-Hicks
He says he loves you,
You believe it's true
You're searching for the answer that you know is true,
You have no idea what to say, what to do,
You list all the things he loves about you.
You see the long list, then look at it and admire all the lovely things,
But when it comes down to him, you know he's just not true.
I finally figured it out,
I'm positive that it's just not true,
She loves him with all her heart, but she knows they will never make it through.
So why waste such little time on a self-centered little boy
Well… she must stay if she wants to be true.
He never says sorry, but she always runs back,
So what's a girl to do, When she knows he's not true
And she's head over heels for this boy,
That won't realize that she is true.
She tries to show her compassion and love
But instead just gets a hug,
So the only thing she can't figure out, if it's really true
Why can't he feel it too?
So she cries "leave me here in this dark place,
And never return to me in any time or in any place,"
So as you see she doesn't know
What to do, only sit there and think he's true she looks at the mirror and recites
I'm mine and myself's only true love, so leave me here and let me turn to bust.
The in marcher boy disagreed and pleaded
"I do feel for you why can't you see, "
"If you do this… to me I'll never recover from this broken heart
I'll rip my heart out of me
Just to stop the pain. "
So as you know she goes back.
