Sweet Dreams
By Sheri Magdaleno
Sweet dreams...
much more than sugar coated sleep.

Sweet dreams...
soft and slow drift into ecstasy.

Sweet dreams...
much more than leaping, bleating sheep.

Sweet dreams...
released from the shackles of propriety.

Sweet dreams...
much more than mere recuperative need.

Sweet dreams...
nightly hasten to bed, not for sleep,
but to sweetly dream.

True Beauty
By Sheri Magdaleno

I'm not the beauty that you're used to
but the love that's been awaiting you.
Close your eyes and see,
what you've been missing is me.

Conversation that stimulates your mind.
Ardent seduction of an unmatched kind.
My sensuality resonates deep,
a siren's song causing your soul to weep.
My essence lingers long after I'm gone.
Voracious desire makes waiting feel wrong.

Open your eyes, my love, before you fall.
See, I am beautiful after all.

Ruth's Pie
By Sheri Magdaleno

The home is decaying, fetid planks.
Ruth is the treasure that resides in its banks.
Ruth is a loving and generous soul.
She's the rare diamond pressed from raw coal.
She carries the burden of many tough years,
but there's more compassion than anger in all of her tears.
Once she relinquished a painful memory to me
of her deepest love that was forbidden to be.
Although, in material, it was never a reality,
the gleam in her eyes showed a devotion for eternity.
Her hair is black with ribbons of platinum.
She stands proud, the monarch of her kingdom.
Her eyes are as telling as her smile is wide,
and she moves with fluidity, an unearthly glide.
Her skin is a supple caramel suede
and her sweetness is mimicked in the pies she's made.
As if her spirit is not infectious enough,
she feeds it to you, in her pies, till you are consumed by love.
I can promise that for as long as I am alive,
I'll never meet a more exceptional woman
or eat a more magical pie.
