My name is Raushni Chopra. I am 17 years old. I am a student of Carpe Diem E Learning Community. I am a Junior in high school. I will graduate this year in May as I have completed all the required credits. I am taking dual credits. I attend AWC. I plan to become a Pediatrician after I complete my Bachelor degree in Science.
Dancing is my passion. I have been dacing since I was a little kid. I took dancing classes in India. I learned the "Kathak" style of dancing. Ever since I moved to the states, I have had no formal training, but I practice regularly and choreograph dances. I have performed for the Indian association serveral times. I have participated in talent shows sponsored by my school in the Yuma Art Center.
The dance I am performing is an Indian folk dance. An Indian folk dance reflects the joy and excitement of the people. The women wear colorful costumes and jewelry. The facial expressions depict the joy and happiness as the dancer lures everyone to join her in the dance. The lyric of the dance is in "Hindi" which is the national language of India. The words are "Aa ja Nach Le" which means "come and dance with me!"
